Most important to us is the level of sportsmanship, community and overall positive atmosphere that has defined Ascension tournaments since their inception. We welcome BJJ competitors of all levels and all ages to share our unique experience with us.

As a testament to the tremendous growth of Jiu-Jitsu worldwide and specifically to its development and organization here in Ontario, in large credit to the hard work of the OJA’s directors, officials and volunteers, we have managed to develop a high standard for all OJA-sanctioned events. We are happy to announce that we will be working, as usual, with our experts and fellow organizers throughout the year–as a team–to bring you the best competition experience at each event.

We will have our usual home-made food available in the cafeteria on both days, event gear and vendor booths showcasing the variety of martial arts apparel and training gear of our sponsors.

We would like to thank our event sponsors: Mean Streak Industries, Fight Planet, Toraki, Xocai, RedStar and Pound for Pound, for providing many prizes for competitors and early registrants.

Please stay tuned for more information and updates on what promises to be an exciting first tournament of the new year. We are anticipating tremendous competition in our various divisions as the provincial BJJ tournament scene continues to grow at a rapid pace, with talented competitors emerging from various clubs throughout the province and outside of it. We are certain that teams will be prepared and some competitors will enjoy their first or most memorable experience at the 2011 ASCENSION BJJ OPEN. We look forward to seeing you there–bring your family members, teammates and positive vibes because we are all in this to improve our skills and enrich our life experience together.
