August 15 in Virginia: US Grappling Junior Championships III

US Grappling presents our third event for children and teens (from ages 4-17) on Saturday, August 15, 2009. The event will be held at Patrick Henry High School in Ashland, VA, just minutes north of Richmond, right off of Interstate 95.

In order to even out the divisions, US Grappling has added another skill level for children and teens. The new skill levels are:
Children Beginner (training less than 1 year) – Note: No submissions.
Children Intermediate (training from 1-3 years)
Children Advanced (training more than 3 years)

Teen Beginner (training less than 1 year)
Teen Intermediate (training from 1-3 years)
Teen Advanced (training more than 3 years) – Note: Teens who have been awarded an adult blue belt must compete in the advanced no gi division
Teen Blue Belt (Gi only, competitors must be 16 years old and have been awarded an adult-level blue belt)

Match Lengths
Beginner: 3 Minutes
Intermediate: 4 Minutes
Advanced: 4 Minutes
Teen Blue Belt: 6 Minutes

Friday night weigh ins will be held from 6-8 PM at Revolution BJJ.
