  2. where do you submit the application ? it’s in paper format and im assuming its sent by mail . what address is it sent to and what’s the deadline ???

  3. All the applications are going to be processed at the event. I believe they are taking registrations at 7AM but I’m not sure for how long. Email Jorge Sacchetto for more info jsacchetto@avhsd.org

    I talked to Abe (The High School’s Club President) yesterday and he told me So Cal Fight Factory, Kemos Fight Factory, Premium Fitness, USDA, 10th Planet, Bakersfield BJJ as well as AV Jiu Jitsu and Amazon Jiu Jitsu are confirmed to be bringing teams.

  5. Registration is 15 bucks or 25 at the door. You can turn in your registration / weigh in at 7-8:30 the day of the event OR at So Cal Fight Factory in Palmdale the Thursday / Friday before.

    Kids Division (Age 5-13): Pooled Weight Classes

    Teen’s Division (Age 14-17): 115 – 130 – 150 – 170 – 190 – 191+ – OPEN
    (Teens May Do Adult Divisions With Parent Consent)

    Men’s Division: 125 – 145 – 165 – 185 – 205 – 225 – 226+ – OPEN

    Women’s Division: 120 – 135 – 150 – 165 – 166+ – OPEN

    (Weight classes may be modified / pooled depending on the amount of participants in each division)

    Registration Price:

    Pre-Registration $15.00 (Cash or Checks Payable to Highland High School BJJ Club)
    Day Of $25.00 (CASH ONLY)

    Weigh Ins – Pre Registration:

    Weigh ins and day of registration will take place from 7:00 AM – 8:30 AM. Weigh ins and pre-registration are also available at So Cal Fight Factory (2027 E. Palmdale Blvd, Palmdale CA 93550) on 4/14 and 4/15 from 10AM – 9PM. You can mail pre-registration to So Cal Fight Factory postmarked before April 9th 2011.

    Tournament Rules

    • Illegal Techniques for ALL AGES & ALL DIVISIONS
    o NO Striking of any kind
    o NO Slamming
    o NO Biting / Hair Pulling / Eye Gouging
    o No Figures to the throat
    o No Small Joint Manipulation (Fingers, Toes, Etc)
    o No Pressure Points
    o No Knees or elbows in the face
    o No Stalling or running from the fight
    o No Swearing or obscene gestures
    • Illegal Techniques for ALL WHITE BELTS / NO GI BEGINNERS
    o No attacks below the waist (i.e. NO Ankle locks, Heel hooks, Knee Bars, Toe Holds)
    o No neck cranks (Including Can Opener)
    o No Wrist Locks
    o No Calf Locks
    o No Slicers (Calf/Bicep)
    • Illegal Techniques for ALL BLUE / PURPLE / INTERMEDIATE / ADVANCED
    o No neck cranks
    o No toe hold
    o No calf locks
    o No twisting bent knee locks
    o Only straight ankle locks are allowed (can’t twist inward or wrap leg over)

    PLEASE NOTE: If a referee sees or thinks a tap is happening it is HIS/HER judgment call whether to stop or continue the match. If HE/SHE sees any competitor refusing to submit and fears serious injury the ref is allowed to stop the match at their discretion.
