October 15-17 in Hawaii: Eternal Submissions

‘Eternal Submission’ GI & NO GI Tournament. It will be held on October 16 & 17th at The Kauai Beach Resort Grand Ballroom

We will having the weigh-ins on Friday October 15th from 5-9pm. Live entertainment and demonstrations will be provided during these hours for your enjoyment. Outer Island competitors may also weigh-in on Saturday, October 16th before the tournament between 7am and 9am only. NO Kauai residents will be allowed to weigh in that morning unless given prior permission. The GI Division will be held on Saturday October 16th and the NO-GI will resume on Sunday October 17th.

Pre-Registrations must be received by 11:59pm HST on October 1st, 2010 in order to receive the free competitor t-shirt. Late Registrations will be accepted up until 9;00pm PST on October 11th, 2010 but late registers will not receive free competitor t-shirt

October 9 in Illinois: US Grappling Chicago

Preregistration is open for for US Grappling – Chicago, a gi and no-gi tournament in at the Oak Lawn Pavilion on Saturday, October 9th.

Things that will make this tournament run smoother than your typical jiu jitsu tournament:

1. No kids. This is an adults only BJJ and submission grappling tournament. This means that the adult divisions will begin at the beginning of the day (first matches start at 11 AM!).

2. We will be capping competitors at 500! This venue, our staff, and our bracketing can handle this many competitors in a very efficient manner throughout the day.

This gi and no-gi event will have divisions for men, women, and 30+ men.

The first 100 competitors to preregister (and pay) will receive a free event t-shirt.

Prizes for all adult absolute (open weight divisions)!
Gi: US Grappling is giving away a custom embroidered gi for men’s and women’s white belt, blue belt, purple belt, brown belt, and black belt absolute division winners!
No-gi: USG is giving away a board shorts and rashguards for all men’s and women’s absolute no-gi novice, beginner, intermediate, and advanced champions!

Saturday weigh ins will be held at the venue from 8 AM to 9:30 AM for anyone competing in no gi divisions, and will be extended to noon for anyone that will only be competing in the gi. Competitors can also register and weigh in Friday night from 6 to 8 PM (night before weigh-in location to be decided). If you weigh in Friday night, you do not need to weigh in on Saturday!

Competitors do not need to wear the gi during weigh ins.

First matches will begin at 11 AM.

Note: This event is for adults only. Teens may compete in adult divisions with permission of their parents and coaches.

New England’s first ever GRACIE OPEN tournament will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2010.

October 15 – 17 in California: US Open XV Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship

The tournament will take place October 15, 16, & 17, 2010 at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium in Santa Cruz, CA. All schools are welcome to participate in this highly lauded and exciting event, taking place in the beautiful seaside city of Santa Cruz, in northern California, approximately 80 miles south of San Francisco. All belt levels in the Junior, Adult, Master, and Senior age categories will compete. Sorry, but there will be no kids divisions at this tournament.

The fee for early registration, i.e., received by 11:59pm PST Thursday October 1st, is $75.00. The fee for late registration (received by Oct. 7th 11:59pm PST) will be $90.00. Registration after October 9th, 2010 will be $99.00.

September 4 in West Virginia: State BJJ and Submission Grappling Championships

On Saturday, September 4, 2010 Charleston, West Virginia will be holding the official “West Virginia Games” once again, and we expect this year to be much bigger than the last. This will be a huge two day event on Magic Island, which is located on the Kanawha river in the capital of West Virginia. The “West Virginia Games” will feature various sports including volleyball, beach wrestling, boxing, power lifting, 5k run, rack & field, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Submission Wrestling, and much more. There will also be many kid friendly events and rides to keep the whole family entertained.

This is an important event for our state and we are looking for a lot of competitors to help our sport and martial art grow in West Virginia. The exposure will be very big throughout the state and we expect many local state officials to be there. All local competitors will benefit from the media attention and all out of state competitors are guaranteed to have fun, get good competition, and be part of a larger event that will be fun for the whole family.

This is the official state championships for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Submission Wrestling (No Gi Grappling) and, as always, we will have a double elimination format allowing each competitor the most opportunity to compete as possible. There will also be various absolute divisions available, allowing each competitor a chance to compete way more than they usually can at any similar tournament.

We welcome and invite all Jiu Jitsu academies to participate in the 6th Annual Bravado Jiu-Jitsu BJJ Open Championships on September 18th, 2010. This event draws competitors from all over Ontario, and Quebec. Past years events have catered to over 300 competitors, and based on the growth of BJJ in Ontario along with the fantastic events that have past in 2010, this years event is expected to be a exciting weekend of Tournament competition.

Our goal is to provide an environment for the competitors, coaches, and spectators that they all can enjoy. A place where Team spirit can be expressed in a positive light, and a opportunity to watch the evolution of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu through healthy competition.

Our event is contested on 6 official rings made by Swain mats/Dollumar for your safety. And as we had last year, our head referee for the event will be IBJJF certified and highly sought after referee Andrew Correa.

The Official Weight division and rules of the Ontario Jiu Jitsu Association (OJA) will be in place for this event, following the IBJJF standard .

New this year is ALL competitors are eligible to receive a copy of all their matches on DVD courtesy of Jin`s Film Studio. you may have seen the company at all the past events. Cameras are set up at every mat recording all the matches. the cost of the DVD’s will be covered by the Bravado Open, you just have to pay $5 to have it shipped to your door. The first 100 competitors registered online will receive a Free event T-Shirt.

This year’s Absolute finalists in both the Blue belt and the Open Belt Men along with the Female Absolute Final will be contested on Sunday afternoon during the Canadian Submission Expo event. In this tournament we aim to honor this heritage and lineage by organizing the tournament in the same manner as the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation. This type of competition readies competitors for the highest level of international competition by adhering to international rules, regulations, and standards.
