October 9 in Virginia: Copa Nova Grappling Championships

The Copa Nova Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championships is the preeminent Grappling and BJJ competition for Northern Virginia. There will be Gi and No-Gi divisions for adults, teens, and children.

There will be weigh ins the night before from 6pm to 8pm at Fightworks…201 Davis Drive, Suite JJ, Sterling, VA 20170. There will also be weigh ins at the event from 8am to 10am.

October 23 in North Carolina: The Good Fight 2010 North Carolina Grappling Open

THE GOOD FIGHT: Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Submission Grappling Tournament Circuit offers both Gi and No-Gi divisions for kids, teens, men & women of all ages. Divisions are divided by age, weight & skill level.

All of our competitions will follow a single elimination tournament format.

We will allow a consolation match for any competitor wishing to receive a second match. To receive a 2nd match the competitor must let the referee or tableworker know before his or her division ends. This will ensure that an opponent from his or her division is available. This will give all competitors a chance to grapple at least 2 matches per division they sign up for, if they desire to do so. Please note: If your division finishes and all the competitors have cleared the area and the ref has started a new division you will not be able to receive your 2nd consolation match. You MUST let the ref or tableworkers know immediately following your 1st match loss.

PLEASE NOTE: Absolute Divisions are single elimination with no consolation match.

Competitors do not have to weigh-in with their Gi on.

October 23 & 24 in Thailand: 2010 FBT Thailand BJJ/Grappling Open

We are expecting more than 200 athletes this year and are working to make sure our competition runs smoothly. All registrations should be done online. The online registration site will close on October 19th at 9pm Bangkok time.

Entry Fees are 1,900 Thai baht for both days, 1250 Thai baht for a single day. Fees are payable at weigh-in. There will be an additional charge of 600 Thai baht for walk-up registrations on the day of the competition. If you do not make weight and brackets have to be redrawn to allow you to compete, there will be an additional 600 Thai baht fee.

October 30 in Georgia: US Grappling Atlanta

US Grappling will be holding a points tournament on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the Suwanee Sports Academy. This event will have divisions for adults and 30+ men. This is a single elimination Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and submission grappling tournament. Registration is now open!

Saturday weigh ins will be held from 8 AM to 9:30 AM for anyone competing in no gi divisions, and will be extended to noon for any adults that will only be competing in the gi. Competitors do not need to wear the gi during weigh ins. Competitors can also register and weigh in Friday night. More information on Friday night weigh ins coming soon.
